Purveyor of fine cats

Elizabeth Blackadder print of a cat

A few days ago I was early to a doc's appointment and went into The Scottish Gallery and was delighted to see prints by Elizbeth Blackadder of cats. Including stray cats of Venice. Her cat pictures became quite well known in the 1990's and at one time her pictures where honoured by being on postage stamps. A family friend Kaytee Horsman the former head of ceramics at Edinburgh College of Art supplied the kittens which became the cats in Blackadder's drawings and prints. Knowing their ancestry a vast cat family of 25 members + in Sciennes Edinburgh has aways made me very fond of her work.
