My favourite meal out: Brunch

I gaily extended an invite to brunch to StaryBlueSky to Baroque on Broughton St this morning. As I arrived to my horror it had been restyled and renamed but despite this R managed to find it. I swear only a few weeks ago it was still oldstyle Baroque.. Anyway we both had Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon, several large cups of coffee and she dished the news from Istambul.  A favourite ' Artist Date' for me is to go out for brunch with a notebook, a pile of postcards and to catch up with correspeondence and read sunday papers over a leisurely meal and several coffees. At this one we had  short lecture on the management of 'buns' as I was very hungry and requested one after the meal. Apprently managing 'buns' is very complicated and therefore as an additional snack all they could offer were packaged Oreo cookies -  a most unScottish offering. Never theless R & I managed to down them while muttering they were just a variation on a common or garden custard creme.

Update: the new name of the place is Treacle
