7 Thoughts About Having an Exhbition

1. Sometimes you just need to decide to do something rather than wait for someone else to give you permission.

Oh and I will be in London for a friend's birthday this weekend so blogging light until my return.
The Yiddish class I belong to has organised a small season of Yiddish Films made by Edgar G Ulmer at the Filmhouse in Edinburgh.
An underground auteur, largely unrecognized during his lifetime, Ulmer has since taken his place among cinema’s legendary figures – an inspiration for the French new wave and a precursor of the American independent film movement, as well as an innovative and unique stylist in his own right. – J Hoberman
More info at the Filmhouse website and I'll be introducing The Light Ahead.

I met R at the last day of her exhibtion. We went down to the Grassmarket for coffee and it was so nice we sat outside. I decided to walk to my job in the afternoon down the Royal Mile. I stopped off at the Caongate Kirk and had a quick look inisde ( a most surprising and unScottish interior) and to admire the blossom in the Kirkyard. At last I feel spring may have come to Edinburgh.
Went to the Borders to pick up the nieclet (AKA the Cutest Niece in the World TM) to bring her back to Edinburgh so she can catch the train tomorrow. Found myself pelting down a farm track behind her as she ran along shouting 'BIG PUDDLE BIG PUDDLE'. Entrusted with keeping her dry I had to latch onto her hood to keep her out of the water. And point out that it wasn't mud it was poo. We made freinds with the 3 sheep dogs, looked at the lambs in the shed, viisted the 10 day old kittens in a bucket (mother cat had killed a large rabbit and draped that over the rim of said bucket). A busy day for a two year old but very satisifying.
